Wild Animal Souls

Purple quotes Parker Palmer:

The soul is like a wild animal.

If I had the energy, I would tag people. But I don't, so: tag youselves. What wild animal has your soul felt like for the past few days?

Thursday: A beaver. Lots of activity. Lots of resources and strengths to draw upon. A lttle frazzled by the end of the day.

Yesterday: An armadillo. Trundling along, glad for a shell. Like a character in a John Irving novel.

Today: Like a wolf, howling at the moon.

I think the armadillo is my favorite so far.

How about you?

Great idea Gannet.

I am a prickly porcupine (I guess I could say a purple prickly porcupine) with all the family stuff going on.

Ah, the armadillo--the state mascot of Texas!

A sloth. If I could think of an animal that could be in denial, I'd add that too.

I seem to be in denial that I'm in grad school. I need to start working like I am.

Sloth is what came to mind for me today. Some days I'm a turtle.

I've been thinking about this, and my answer is actually a tree. Trying to stay grounded, and giving support to everything landing on my branches even as the wind blows (shoulders have been feeling heavy lately) and trying to tap into the energy of mother earth.

Good question.

Peace, Virginia

Mostly I'm a hyper-vigilant Meerkat.

Until night time. Then I'm a very cranky bear being kept from my comfy hibernation cave.

Mostly, these days, it's a whale for several reasons but, lately, mostly because of the haunting bittersweetness of whalesong. It seems to alternate between that and a badger. Lord have mercy.
