Out West!

We're in Oregon! Last night I curled up on a hotel bed with the Lovely Daughter and her roommate and we all watched Grey's Anatomy together -- my idea of a perfect evening. They have regular classes today so we're off to the coast, though probably further south than pictured above.

And yesterday afternoon we got to meet the delightful
Lisa and Matt and inaugurate our tip with a visit to their Old Town Cafe in Scappoose -- how cool is that?! We spent a wonderful couple of hours together chatting over Lisa's black bean soup and veggie quesadillas -- and it felt like we had been friends forever.

Ditto Cynthia. I want to meet Lisa, and black bean soup...that's one of my all time favorites! It is incredibly cool that you're getting to do this.

I am so jealous!!! And I feel so stupid. I thought your daughter returned to Tulane!! Some day I am going to go on a "Meet my Friends I have Met via AOL" tour of the country! What a fasinating journey that would be.

Welcome to the west coast! (Albeit a tad north of me!) Am so glad you have the opportunity to visit your daughter and see our wonderful coastline. Thanks for the photos, as ever. I am making a real effort to return to blogging, so will be back!

Glad you could make it out to beautiful Oregon while the sun was shining on the coast. And thanks for cheering Lisa up. She can use it.

What beautiful photos. Are there none of the two of you together? I would love to meet both you and Lisa and I'm thrilled to read that you got to spend some time together.

I love quesadillas AND black bean soup.
