New Orleans, New Orleans

I had sort of imagined her going to college among the ivy-covered Georgian and federalist buildings of New England ~

This reminds me of my house, after the fire...and I found that SO overwhelming...and it was just one house, but it was our house...I can't begin to imagine what I'd have felt, had it been the whole block, the whole neighborhood, the whole city...

I think you must be so proud of your daughter, to help with the cleanup.

I am hopeful when I see and hear stories of our nation's youth helping those who have fallen victim not only to nature's wrath but to our government's bureaucratic ineptitude. Please thank your daughter, and her friends, for all they're doing to make a difference in their corner of the world.

Your closing line was perfect.

You should be so proud...

This is a lesson she would never have learned in the ivied halls. What a great young woman,

Vicky
