I'm having some camera/computer problems, and I miss posting images. So off to the archives. Apparently three years ago this week, I spent a day at Chautauqua. I actually remember the walk on which I took this photograph.
If you want to respond to my poll in the sidebar, you have another day. If you're in the "Other" category, a comment in the poll post below would be much appreciated.
And for those of you who can't fathom a silent retreat: I mentioned to one of my CPE intern colleagues today that I thought 40 days might do it. "Oh, yeah," he said. He looked as if he were starving.

That picture is stunning. I beleive you when you say you need 40; I hope you can find a way to go deeper in your allotted four days.
Thanks for taking the time to look at my blog! It's an odd sort of thing being tied to school but it's a blog.
I'll bet you miss posting images! you take such good pictures!
blessings on your journey...
I love that picture!
Yeah, I'd probably last half an hour on a silent retreat. If that.
I envy your 40 day retreat. I am looking forward to your posts after that time to read about your experiences with God--and yourself!
Having five 8 days of silence in five years under my belt, part of me craves a 30 day retreat. another part of me wonders about entering back into life away from the silence, it must be a strange thing. but reality is I do not have a life that would allow for such a thing at this time.
Jan, I am joking about the 40 days, because I only have 4 available this year (hence the 10% post below).
Stratoz, i definitely have a dream of a 30-day retreat at Eastern Point between the end of seminary and a cal to ministry.
