Blogging Questions

I just discovered, through another blog, which I occasionally read but on which I never comment, that I could try and find out why my readers, all eleven of them, show up at this blog. And since I am re-thinking my blogging life after its four-plus years -- re-design? focus? come out? divide and multiply? -- I thought I'd get some help.

So please, please: complete the poll in the sidebar!

If your answer is "Other," please leave a comment in today's entry elucidating the whys and wherefores.

And if you read and are trying to retain your anonymity, this is a good time to stop in, check the poll, and leave an anonymous comment.

Thanks!

I'm here cause you found me first and I love reading about you and I feel like we might be friends in real life someday. Oh, and I like youl

What if I have multiple reasons? And is IRL through another internet connection?

I can't remember how I first found your blog, but I'm a Constant Reader and Frequent Commenter.

I love following your journey--particularly since we have so much in common as former attorneys, despite our theological differences.

And I love your beautiful photography, too. And like Joan Calvin, I feel like we would be friends in "real life" as we are on the 'net.

To be more precise, I stumbled upon you through Presbyterian Bloggers.

I agree with Carol for having more than one reason, but I went with other than tested my memory...

I went on a silent retreat to a Jesuit place in Wernersville, Quantum Theology woman found me when I blogged about such place and experience, QT and I became blogging buddies, you were intrigued by my comments on QT's blog, you visited my blog, I visited your blog (repeat the last two steps numerous times)

I come because you come to my blog, because you are a wonderful writer, because you love birds, because you write openly about your journey with God... and it brightens my day to visit you.

Why I read your post

~I love the pictures
~I love reading about your life and family
~We are about the same age and I am in awe of your courage in changing your life completely to answer the call to ministry and I like reading about that
~It smells nice here
~Did I mention I love the pictures
~Oh yes, and your stories about studying Greek cracked me up (but not in a rude way)

Oops. I meant to write "why I read your blog"

(foreign accent moment there)

well, I found you first through RevGalBlogPals, then I met you and I knew because you shared a story you had posted. :)

I had to pick other because there wasn't an all of the above choice. I read this blog because of your writing which is both eloquent and thought-provoking.

There are more than eleven of us. I've seen comments by more people than that.

I arrived via revgals, but stayed for all sorts of reasons - your writing, your pictures...lots of things
Actually, initially I visited because I was tickled at your choice of name, because a gannet on this side of the Pond is synonymous with someone ready to eat anything - it's the kind of term a mum would use to describe her school aged family as they sit down to a meal! I like your take on the bird far better :-)

I tried but it said "cannot process request".

OK, here we go:
1. Found you thru RevGals.
2. Really have enjoyed reading about your discernment/formation process.
3. Love hearing about the kind of mom you are.

There's more than that, I know, but I have to stop somewhere.

I stop by because I find your journey compelling and I want to know more. I love the way to describe events in your life, some of which seque with similar life events for me, (since we are about the same age) and some of which are vastly different - I love the way you put words and thoughts together. So, I stop by to catch up on you and because it inevitable propells to think about life more broadly.

I know I found you somehow through Revgals some two years ago...

does that put me in "Other"?

I don't know you; found you from another blog, but I find your journey fascinating. You have opened my eyes in several ways.
God Bless you for sharing your "trip".

Ditto Lisa...I know we've never met, but I consider you a cyber-friend...and I always enjoy reading what you write, and seeing the beautiful pics that you post.

I am here (and never comment) because I visit from Mitford on occasion. I enjoy your reflections and your blogging about life in general.
