Edge of the Island: Maritime Travels 10 Out of 12

Our last night on Prince Edward Island meant -- surprise! -- another sunset, another lighthouse, another moonrise.

This time we headed to West Point (see map in March 10 entry), for a walk through the woods, dinner at
the lighthouse (where you can also spend the night, right on the beach), a walk along the ocean as the moon rose over the dunes and children splashed out on a sandbar, and a drive home along the coastline.

Absolutely beautiful. Was it cool during your visit? I remember it as being either late August or September; although this summer was warm, at that time of year, when you are that far north, it can be downright cold at night.

This journey to another world was the respite and energizer I needed to get back to grading writing pieces for another hour before falling into bed. Somehow absolute calm worked better than the Saw Doctors reviews over at Paul's and Mary's; too weary to analyze that. Saw your comment at Coming to Terms and hope you'll be able to list ten good things at the end of this week!

Thank you for sharing these wonderful photos. They were the perfect elixir for a snowy winter's day in late March!

You've really captured and shared the essence of this place. and you've even figured out how the "out of" titles are supposed to work.
