Old Town Cafe

If you're headed for Portland, Oregon, then I suggest a meal in Scappoose!

Lisa and I "met" on AOL Journals back in the old days, four or five years ago. She's a wickedly incisive writer, whether about the pitfalls of the Republican Party or the pitfalls of small business ownership ~ and she's a fabulous cook. I've missed her writing since it's taken a back seat to the restaurant, so I was grateful for the chance to relax after the plane trip west and catch up a little.

That's the Lovely Daughter with the proprietors in the top photo, and the Lovely Daughter with her momma in the bottom -- and, oh, yeah, her dad and brother and grandparents, too.

Seeing you (for the first time, I believe, other a sort-of glimpse in a snowy day photo a while back), your BEAUTIFUL, yes, exceedingly LOVELY daughter, the rest of your happy family on this joyous occasion, dear Lisa, AND the Old Town all in one entry fills my heart with pleasure. Putting faces to minds and souls (and a place) I've been getting to know somewhat intimately for a few years is wonderful. Congratulations to your daughter on her grand accomplishment and to the family that raised her up. I know a bit of what's behind all these smiles and it brings tears to my eyes. Thank you letting us share in this moment. Blessings and good, good wishes,

Debbi captured just what I wanted to say. It is wonderful to see your beautiful face (and its echo in your daughter's beautiful face).

Much love to all.

Fabulous photos! There's no denying the 3 generations of men and their relationship! The resemblance is striking!

It fills my heart and makes me smile to see the faces of people I've grown to love and care for online. Thank you for posting these, and enjoy your stay in Oregon.

Matt and I were also struck by the amazing family resemblance between your kids, their dad and their grandparents.

We had a great time and I'm SOOO glad you came. Now that the Lovely Daughter is gone from Oregon, will you ever be back?
