Three Things I Cannot Do

One should, from time to time, acknowledge her profound limitations.

There are three things I cannot do:

1. Cook.

2. Theology.

3. Embed a youtube video into a blog post.

I leave it to you to determine the order of importance.

Personally, I think it's clear that God had good reason to give us:

1. Restaurants

2. Philosophers and

3. College students.

Completely with you on embedding the video thing. I tend to think that theology is lived in our present world with all that brings...and so your posts are profoundly theological.

Thnx. Very reassuring for me! I think I'll follow your lead and at age 67 stop "meaning to" work on those three skills. Now I can give up vaguely feeling guilty that I can't force myself hang around for:
-detailed accounts of time-consuming cuisine adventures,
-rambling or heated theological/philosophical discussions,
-taking an intelligent interest while the youngsters discuss nifty plug-ins and widgets that make one's computer do something that its officially installed software won't.

Now you have me wanting to scuttle off to my corner and inventory the thing I cannot do so I can give up the burden of trying. :-)

You make me laugh! I needed to be here today!

I agree with Purple - there is some deep theology there!

And a good laugh, which is itself a good theological experience...

NOW that's reminded me of a poem, I wonder if I can find it (one think I can't do is keep the books organized...)

You have such a dry wit. Glad you can see the humor. Sometimes I can embed a utube video, but it's not as easy as it used to be.

Thanks for the laugh. Add "be organized" to my list. Long story.

You have more than me. I only have one profound limitation and that is: I have no idea what I'm doing. Ever.

Hmmm ... I'm ok with the first two but your #3 has been on my mind lately too. AOL had just made it easy to add youtube and different photo slide shows to our journals, magic smoke had good instructions that were easy to access. I have no idea how to do it here at blogger and have no idea when I'll have time to figure out any new HTML.

we are trying to give up restaurant use for Lent... it was OK however to walk through a blizzard to a Vietnamese place on the other side of town... luckily my town is not huge.

come to PA I'll teach you how to cook, or at least cook for you.
