I'll guess, One might be Buckingham Palace, Two complete baffles me, but I'll guess either a B&B or a hostel where she is staying. Three is the Chunnel under the English Channel from England to France Four is the top of Notre Dame in Paris.
I know I probably did not get 100 percent. But I'll be happy with one.
I can do the first couple (but its probably not fair as I'm a local) and am sorry that I didn't realise she was going to be relatively close...it would have been good to offer some hospitality, at least in the form of a coffee on the run. I rather think that jo(e) and I took a photo not unlike the first about a year ago
lol for Buckingham Palace- Like Kathyrn it would be cheating for me to give the answers living in the UK - but I am enjoying reading the suggestions!!!
Not TOO bad -- the first one is Oxford; the second is Stratford, though I don't think it's Shakespeare's house, but one of the British ladies may correct me (I just lifted it from a tourist website) and yes, the next two are the Chunnel and Notre Dame de Paris.
Gannets are enormous and sleek creamy-white seabirds, with black wingtips, yellow heads and necks, and startlingly outlined eyes. They nest on the rocky cliffs of the European and North American coasts of the North Atlantic and, once grown, spend their days sailing across the ocean. The acrobatics by which they make their living ~ steep climbs into the air and speedy plunges straight into the sea ~ are rivaled only by those of pelicans.
What better metaphor for a sweeping search of one's life choices and opportunities than a gannet extended above the waves, a regal and yet restless surveyor of the vast ocean surface? The gannet reminds us that life is an adventure in both beauty and profound unease, and that the sea itself is limitless in its textures and possibilities.

I'm going with presbyterian gal on the last two, but won't hazard a guess on the first two.
I don't know their locations, but I do identify with traveling vicariously through an offspring!
I'm guessing Westminster Abbey, Shakespeare's home, the Chunnel and Notre Dame de Paris.
Love the pictures and your comments. I hope your daughter keeps on having a marvelous time.

I took a pic of the same clock at Oxford. You must have rented a helicopter.http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/1067/1873/1600/DSCN0295.jpg
