Gannets are enormous and sleek creamy-white seabirds, with black wingtips, yellow heads and necks, and startlingly outlined eyes. They nest on the rocky cliffs of the European and North American coasts of the North Atlantic and, once grown, spend their days sailing across the ocean. The acrobatics by which they make their living ~ steep climbs into the air and speedy plunges straight into the sea ~ are rivaled only by those of pelicans.
What better metaphor for a sweeping search of one's life choices and opportunities than a gannet extended above the waves, a regal and yet restless surveyor of the vast ocean surface? The gannet reminds us that life is an adventure in both beauty and profound unease, and that the sea itself is limitless in its textures and possibilities.

The colors are beautiful and I hope the walk means you're feeling better today.
beautiful photos. I hope you are feeling better!
I'm guessing the antibiotics have kicked in. That walk was probably like a drink of healing nectar! Beautiful pictures.
Beautiful pictures and new one as your header. Glad you're feeling more energetic. Keep getting better!
PS I finally bookmarked Funky so I could keep up on the cartoons, thanks to your introduction.

Beatrice The Bold Puppy here with a message for Tipper.
Tipper,
Thanks for asking me to interview you. I've taken time from my hectic schedule of chewing, napping, and being cute to ask you the following questions:
1. You said you are part dachshund. Which part?
2. The dog that interviewed me was named after Paul Newman. I'm named after a Princess. Are you named after Al Gore's wife ?
3. Your mom is a great photographer. Does she ever take you along when she is shooting pictures in fun places?
4. Who takes care of you when your mom is at seminary? And what is seminary anyway?
5. What is your favorite treat?
Woof! Woof! Thanks for playing. Time to chew something.
Your friend,
Beatrice The Bold Puppy
