Chicago Calls

Sunday's my birthday!

And we're spending the week-end in Chicago with ALL of our children!

Life is very good right at this moment.

**********

And....it's the Friday Five:

1. Have you experienced living through an extreme weather event- what was it and how did you cope?

Well, there was Katrina . . . I was the one at home while everyone else was stranded in Baton Rouge after unloading The Lovely Daughter's stuff at Tulane; I was the one yelling into the phone, "I know you can't see the weather channel, but I CAN!!! And it is very very very VERY big!"

2. How important is it that we wake up to issues such as global warming?

Pretty much.

3. The Christian message needs to include stewardship of the earths resources agree/ disagree?

100% agree.

And because it is summer- on a brighter note....

4. What is your favourite season and why?

October is my favorite season. There is nothing at all like October in Williamstown, Massachusetts. Or October anywhere else.

5. Describe your perfect vacation weather....

Crisp, clear, 65 F at night and 85 F during the day. The weather is not complete, of course, without the ocean.
But Lake Michigan will do!

Happy Birthday. Have a great weekend- love Chicago. I agree about the weather-the only thing that I think might be close to your "October" for me is any time ( except winter) in the Maritimes.

Happy Birthday, fellow October and ocean lover! I agree that Lake Michigan is good substitute for ocean, and wish you a wonderful weekend.

Hmm...another July baby in the crowd. Everyone who is anyone was born in July. :)

Have fun in the Big C. Nice skyline shot. Lived in the 'burbs for 29 years, and I never did get to take in the view from out on the lake.

Ok. So Saturday morning in Chicago was not so great, but by the afternoon - and today - Sunday, the anniversary of your birth - fabulous. Absolutely fabulous day here. I hope, what ever you are doing it is outside and great fun!

I'm back -- how wonderful to return to all of these terrific wishes! Thnak you all! I wanted to to go to Indiana Dunes today but I was outvoted. As I was trying not to complain, The Lovely Daughter handed me my present -- a Nano!!!!! So I think it will be awhile before I'm posting Chicago pictures. . . !

Lisa, that image was taken from The Point in Hyde Park.

Happy Birthday, Robin. And I had to tell you I'll be spending October 13-21 on Block Island.

Fine. Paul. Just fine. If I were Hermione, there would be green dripping from my fingernails.

And you have a boat. It will be SO wonderful.

As I recall, you had a birthday this month, too. So: belated Happy Birthday!
