Yes, we went to the island of Staffa and saw puffins -- dozens and dozens of them, landing practically at our feet. And on the way out, in the fog and clouds and mist: skuas, shearwaters, guillemots, kittiwakes and razorbills -- all life birds for me!

Puffins! How wonderful!
I have never seen puffins in the wild.
Peace, Virginia
Okay, call me dumb but what is a puffin? ::googling it now::
J~
We have puffins that nest on the rocks here just off the beaches. They are neat little clown-faced birds!
There is nothing like bird-watching on a new beach.
I hope that Paris with the husband was at least as thrilling as padding the life list ;-)
I can't wait to see pictures!
I can picture a puffin, but all those others...? Looking forward to the pictures! Seeing different birdlife while traveling is always one of my joys, too. On a recent trip to the Gulf saw a flamingo, cormorants, laughing gulls, white & blue herons, & of course pelicans--nothing exotic or sensational, but still exciting. *debbi*
