Late Afternoon in the Cemetery

I've photographed this particular mausoleum many times, but I had to stop again yesterday afternoon; the light was spectacular. Or maybe just the fact that there was light?

On Fridays we get out of school (Jewish school, and Shabbos starts early in winter) in the middle of the afternoon. I had plans to get some work done, but I decided to go and look for the foxes first, and that took the rest of the day! No foxes, and not many other photographs either, despite the ever-lenghtening shadows ~ every time I tried to step off the roads, I sank into snow above my knees.

So far, I can not find any spectacular cemeteries in FW. Not like the botanical marvels in Lex and Lou that are mouth dropping beautiful in their design and monuments. I am so drawn to cemeteries and miss the peace and beauty. Thanks for the pictures.

Alphawoman, if you're referring to Cave Hill, you're right. It is absolutely beautiful. I recall studying some of hte monuments in a high school humanities class. Rolling hills, gorgeous huge old trees, and tranquility all around.

I really like how the light highlights the interior facade of this building. Normally, you would just see shadows. Beautiful.
